Smaoineamh

It’s easy to see the rotten fruit on another person’s tree. Jesus asks us to look at the kind of fruit our own tree is producing. If there is good fruit there, it doesn’t mean we can be complacent. The fact that we do some good things, doesn’t make us thoroughly good people. And if we find some bad fruit on our tree, we shouldn’t let it get us down. It doesn’t mean we are bad through and through. Let us extend to others the same kind of understanding.

World Meeting of Families
Pope Francis has chosen Ireland to host the 9th World Meeting of Families in 2018. It is the largest universal gathering of Catholic families and brings together families from all over the world in faith and celebration. What is the World Meeting of Families? In 1994, Pope St John Paul II asked the Pontifical Council for the Family to establish the World Meeting of Families as an international event of prayer, catechesis and celebration, drawing participants from around the globe. It seeks to strengthen the bonds between families and to bear witness to the crucial importance of marriage and the family for all. A special collection will be taken up in all Diocese in Ireland next weekend, May 28th/29th towards the cost of hosting this event. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
