Mission Crib Collections
This year the Crib offerings from Naomh Muire, Naomh Caitlín agus Naomh Eoin Baiste will be given to local foreign missionaries Fr. Tommy Lynch in India and his brother Fr. Danny Lynch in Paraguay. Both from Milltown, Dingle work with the world’s poorest in their Divine Word Missions. Míle buíochas for Donations received to date €2,492.
The Crib will be in place in St. Mary’s until the final week in January. Therefore, the hours of Eucharistic Adoration will be after the evening Masses on Tuesday and Wednesday the 25th and 26th of January when the Crib will be taken down. Bígí Fial.

Share The Good News
Share The Good News is the title of the wonderful 10 year Master plan launched by Bishop Liam Ó Murchú and the Irish Episcopal Conference recently. It provides a framework for religious education and the ongoing work of evangelisation in the homes, schools and parishes of our country. “Together we can find the resources necessary to build on the time and talents we have been given by the Living God and so make the coming decade a period of great catechetical renewal.”
Blessed John Paul II
It has been announced that the late Pope John Paul II will be declared ‘Blessed’ at a special ceremony in Rome on Divine Mercy Sunday, 1st May 2011. We Irish have many memories of Pope John Paul’s visit to our country and of his papacy. At his funeral Mass, Pope Benedict said of him: In the first years of his pontificate, still young and full of energy, the Holy Father went to the very ends of the earth, guided by Christ. But afterwards, he increasingly entered into the communion of Christ’s sufferings; increasingly he understood the truth of the words: “Someone else will fasten a belt around you.” And in this very communion with the suffering Lord, tirelessly and with renewed intensity, he proclaimed the Gospel, the mystery of that love which goes to the end (cf. Jn 13:1).

World Day for Migrants and Refugees
Today is 97th World Day for Migrants and Refugees.
“The World Day of Migrants and Refugees offers the whole Church an opportunity to reflect on a theme linked to the growing phenomenon of migration, to pray that hearts may open to Christian welcome and to the effort to increase in the world justice and charity, pillars on which to build an authentic and lasting peace,” wrote the Pontiff. “All,” he continued, “belong to one family, migrants and the local populations that welcome them, and all have the same right to enjoy the goods of the earth whose
destination is universal, as the social doctrine of the Church teaches. It is here that solidarity and sharing are founded.”
Prayer for One Human Family
Good and gracious God,
we thank you for the gift of families.
We are grateful for all of the joy and love
that they bring into our lives,
and we ask that you provide
special protection for all families,
particularly those who face hardships
as they move in search of a better life.
Show mercy to those who travel in danger,
and lead them to a place of safety and peace.
Comfort those who are alone and afraid because
their families have been torn apart by violence
and injustice.
As we reflect upon the difficult journey
that the Holy Family faced as refugees in Egypt,
help us to remember the suffering of all migrant families.
Through the intercession of Mary our Mother,
and St. Joseph the Worker, her spouse,
we pray that all migrants may be reunited with their loved ones
and find the meaningful work they seek.
Open our hearts so that we may provide hospitality
for all who come in search of refuge.
Give us the courage to welcome every stranger
as Christ in our midst.
Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayers of the Faithful
As members of the human family, and family of God, gathered in this place, we place our needs before the Lord.
1. We pray for the leaders of our Church: May they always put before us the need to welcome the stranger. Lord hear us.
2. We pray for all God’s people: May we be open and welcoming to our brothers and sisters from many other places and cultures who have come to live among us. Lord hear us.
3. We pray for those who have been forced to leave their homes; those studying and working abroad; those on the missions: May they find a welcome, and be able to make a contribution to the countries
in which they settle. Lord hear us.
