Machnamh

Life-giving God, we thank you.
You have always watched over us,
You have blessed us with signs of your presence,
We come to you now as we find ourselves
needing new life.
We are in need of energy and renewed hope,
We are in need of your grace
to re-direct our hearts.

Lord, may our time together
be an opportunity to give thanks,
to redefine our vision,
to search, and to be shaped and re-shaped
through reflection, interaction, challenge
and your forming love.
May we find among us the light of hope and love.

Smaoineamh
We all experience setbacks. Some are serious, challenging and can knock us right off our track. Other setbacks are much less serious. When these happen we can just readjust and simply move on. But for some these lesser setbacks are as if the world has come to an end. We hear a litany of complaining and giving out. When such lesser setbacks are put next to other people’s real stories and pain, these lesser setbacks fade into total insignificance. Smaller setbacks and knocks are a feature of all our lives. Let’s be honest we’re luckier than most and we can count our blessings. We pray today for any person or family who really is experiencing those tough and difficult setbacks in life.
Pray for Anne Moloney, (Nee Scully), Listowel and late of Green Street.
