Emáús: “Gioraíonn Beirt Bóthar”…

de réir sean-fhocal na nGael. Léiríonn Soiscéal Lúcáis agus ealaíon Enda King atá le feiscint ar doirse an taibearnacal i séipéal Naomh Muire meon éadósachach agus athrú chroí na compánaigh ar an ród go Eamáús. Teastaíonn cairde uainn uilig go háirithe nuair a bhíonn muid ag fulaingt, duine a mheabhraíonn dúinn gur féidir linn leas a bhaint as fulaingt. Thug Críost brí agus ciall don fhulaingt nuair a d’fhulaing sé a pháis is a bhás. Ach níl an fhulaingt éasca, teastaíonn cúnamh, duine éigin a shiúlfaidh an bealach linn mar a shiúil Críost lena dheisceabail, duine éigin ar féidir linn ár scéal a roinnt leo, duine a éistfidh linn.

Chabhraigh sampla Chríost le go leor daoine a gcrois a hiompar. Nuair a thuigeann muid an chrois mar is cóir agus nuair a iomparaíonn muid í mar a d’iompair Críost, tá muid in ann gártha áthais a ligean agus Dia a mholadh ónár gcroíthe mar a mholtar dúinn ag tús an Aifrinn.

Stay with us, Lord Jesus, as evening falls

And be our companion on our way.

Set our hearts on fire with new hope,

So that with our brothers and sisters

we may recognize you in the scriptures

and in the breaking of bread,

Who live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.

Kerry Celebrates Christian Volunteers

“The Diocese of Kerry is to honour the “Christian contribution” of parish volunteers this weekend as part of the European Year of Volunteering 2011.

Bishop Murphy has embraced this as a way of recognising the incredible generosity of volunteering and also the opportunity it presents for people to live a really wholesome Christian life. Parishes throughout the diocese are encouraged to get involved by dedicating this weekend’s Sunday Mass to their local volunteers.”

Ministers of The Eucharist

Iarrtar ortsa an litir seo leanas a léamh go cúramach i dtreo go mbeidh tú in ann bheith lán-pháirteach inár bhfeachtas chun daoine breise d’fháil san saothar rí-thábhachtach sa pharóiste.

We invite you to do your very best to respond to our parish programme as we endeavour to increase the number of Ministers of the Eucharist on our parish teams at Séipéil Naomh Caitlín, Naomh Eoin Baiste agus Naomh Muire.  Therefore, we warmly encourage you to nominate neighbours, friends or family members, both male and female, whom you deem worthy of serving Our Lord and our community in this vital and life giving ministry.

As we prepare to augment our teams, we sincerely acknowledge the contribution of all the loyal and faithful parishioners who generously exercise this valued ministry.  Last year, Bishop Liam Ó’ Murchú extended their term of commission through which they give eucharistic example and service in all our Parish Churches, Coláiste Íde, Dingle Hospital and  the nursing homes, together with communion visits, on occasions, to our housebound sick.  May the Lord reward them and their families for all their good work in our Christian community.

We ask the Holy Spirit to inspire you as you encourage and help to expand this ministry in our parish.  As we shall approach all those nominated by you in advance of our proposed training course, we ask you to prayerfully consider this important service.  Please return your recommendations having signed the form below before St. Brendan’s Day May 16th.

Please detach and return to Tigh na Sagart or to the church before May 16th.

I wish to nominate the following for service as Ministers of the Eucharist in our Parish.
